Summary: CALM All Porsche Trophy - Round 4, Snetterton 300 (12th & 13th August 2023)
Round 4 at Snetterton was the fullest programme of the 903's first UK season, and the first weekend the car completed from beginning to end. Testing, qualifying and three races, on the long 300 layout, with the trip to Spa-Francorchamps in October already booked. Everything about the weekend was a rehearsal for that.
The car qualified with a 2mins41.90secs and then improved in every session that followed. Race 1 brought a best lap of 2mins38.50secs and 27th place, Race 2 a 2mins37.66secs and 25th, and the 40-minute race with its compulsory pit stop a 2mins35.67secs and 22nd. The Invitation Class win came in all three.
More important than the positions was what the weekend proved. The 903 ran through testing, qualifying and three races without a fault, including its first race with a pit stop, which was exactly the reassurance needed before two 1-hour races at Spa.
It was a family weekend too. Sabine, Isabel and Chantel made the trip from Germany, and the girls presented the awards for all three races, as the official series report records.
The season now ends with the international round at Spa-Francorchamps in October.
